In 2019, I was traveling from Orlando to India for a wedding. The cheapest business class flight I could find was approximately $5200 round trip from Orlando.
I then wondered what the cost of a business class flight would be if I left from another major East Coast city. After checking several major cities such as Miami, Atlanta, Washington DC, New York (and Newark New Jersey), and Boston, I discovered that I could fly business class from Washington DC (Dulles Airport) to India for about $2700. I saved about $2500. The disadvantage was that I had to fly to Washington from my home in the Orlando area, but saving $2500 was worth it. Moreover, I actually had enough points such that I was able to fly to Washington round trip essentially for free. I flew different airlines to India from Washington going there and coming back, but it was a comfortable business class experience all the way. The tool I used to search for flights was Google Flights. What I also found was that the price would sometimes significantly differ if I was able to alter my travel plans by a day or two, thereby saving me even more money. I would encourage you to explore this option by going to
Google.com/flights now and play around with what prices you can find.
Make sure that you leave plenty of time between your connections if you need to fly to another city for your business class flight. You don't want to miss your international flight. Sometimes, it might not be unreasonable to arrive at your business class city a day early and staying in a hotel considering that you can sometimes save thousands of dollars if flying as a couple or a family.
Traveling business class when traveling internationally can make the journey so much more memorable, fun, and comfortable. My personal rule is that if the flight is at least 6-7 hours or more duration, I would try to fly business class.
Happy Travels.
